Ultimate Chaos
Solution not availableEugene T. Dudley vs. Gordon "Grab Bag" Gandalfo
You can't win.
Nope, you're not seeing things. Eugene T. Dudley has entered his worst nightmare — a game of Ultimate Chaos. And he has discovered that he's as equally inept at maneuvering Star Wars, Middle-earth and Legend of the Five Rings cards as he is at Magic. After tangling for hours with Gordon "Grab Bag" Gandalfo, he's figured out how to get cards into play… but he's down to two life and he can't imagine how you win this game. So, as usual, he's set himself a goal he can reach. Like his favorite Jedi hero, it's Eugene's mission to destroy the Death Star. It may not lead him to victory — heck, Eugene couldn't find victory with a map — but it'll look damned impressive, won't it?
Destroy the Death Star.
Keep in mind the following
- It's the beginning of your main phase and you have already drawn your card for this turn. You have two life.
- In Ultimate Chaos, games operate based primarily on the rules of Magic. Sometimes, you'll have to make allowances for translation. L5R's honor corresponds to life. Shadowfist's "smoked" is the same as Magic's "destroyed." Locations in Star Wars are kind of like lands in Magic, so the Death Star counts as a land. Get the picture? Of course, sometimes you can ignore the rules and do things just because they make sense thematically.
- You have no cards in your graveyard. The top card of your library is a Mishra's Groundbreaker.
- We really do have a particular solution in mind, but that doesn't mean there isn't more than one right way to solve the puzzle. If you can't figure out our method, use your imagination — creativity counts.
